In 2024, Irish Country Meats made strong progress in promoting healthier food choices by increasing the total weight of retail packs with Nutri-Score labelling from 658 tonnes in 2023 to 837 tonnes for the Belgian market. This performance exceeded the milestone target by 36.5% and reflects the company’s commitment to transparency and consumer wellbeing.

A key driver of this progress was the company’s engagement with two new retailers to explore the introduction of Nutri-Score labelling on their product lines. These discussions represent a strategic effort to expand the reach of nutritional information and support informed decision-making among a broader customer base.

Several planned initiatives were also advanced during the year.  Irish Country Meats introduced traffic light nutrition labelling on Irish packaging, providing a clear and accessible way for consumers to assess the health profile of products at a glance.  This complements the Nutri-Score system and reinforces the company’s dedication to clear, front-of-pack communication.

In addition, the company increased its network of organic suppliers by 5.8%, supporting the availability of more natural and minimally processed options. Irish Country Meats also hosted numerous events both onsite and offsite to promote healthy eating, engaging with consumers and stakeholders to raise awareness about balanced diets and responsible food choices.
