In 2024, Sofrimar continued to strengthen its commitment to responsible sourcing, achieving key milestones in its raw materials certification target. The percentage of brown crab sourced from Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) suppliers increased from 92% in 2023 to 93.24%, surpassing the milestone target of 93%.

This progress was supported by two annual initiatives: sourcing directly from FIP-registered boats and active participation in FIP meetings. These actions reflect Sofrimar’s hands-on approach to sustainability, ensuring that its supply chain aligns with best practices in fisheries management and traceability.

The company also made significant strides in its prawn sourcing, with 100% of prawns sourced from FIP suppliers in 2024, up from 85% in 2023. This achievement exceeded the milestone target by 12%, marking a major step forward in Sofrimar’s efforts to promote sustainable seafood sourcing.

One key initiative driving this success was the continued focus on partnering with FIP-registered boats, reinforcing the company’s dedication to working with suppliers who share its values around environmental stewardship and responsible harvesting. These partnerships help ensure that Sofrimar’s products meet high standards for sustainability and certification.
