In 2024, Silver Hill Duck reported a reduction in waste per unit of output from 0.0101 t/t in 2023 to 0.0099 t/t, outperforming its milestone target by 21.4%. This reflects a consistent focus on operational efficiency and waste minimisation.

One of the key contributors to this improvement was the company’s success in expanding market access for its products. This development has led to a reduction in the volume of product requiring rework, which in turn has decreased the amount of associated packaging waste, such as plastic and cardboard, entering the recycling stream.

Another key driver of the company’s waste reduction efforts in 2024 was staff training.  Employees took part in training sessions that focused on waste reduction behaviours and supported practical changes across the workplace. These efforts contributed to improved waste management and reinforced a culture of environmental awareness within the organisation.
