In 2024, Meade Farm made strong progress in reducing its carbon footprint, achieving a 7.9% decrease in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from the company’s milestone target, reflecting a proactive approach to energy and emissions management.

Three key initiatives contributed to this reduction: the installation of additional onsite renewable energy, increasing their electric fleet, and energy-efficient upgrades in the packhouse. These actions demonstrate Meade Farm’s commitment to transitioning away from fossil fuels and investing in long-term, low-carbon infrastructure.

In parallel, the company has also made progress on Scope 3 emissions, surpassing the milestone target by 18.6%. This improvement reflects strategic development to reduce packaging, increase volumes of homegrown produce, and valorise waste streams. To support ongoing emissions tracking and reporting, Meade Farm has initiated the development of in-house carbon accounting capacity. This will enable the company to better monitor its emissions performance and identify further opportunities for reduction across its operations and supply chain.
