In 2024, Sam Dennigan & Co UC achieved notable improvements in energy efficiency. Electricity consumption intensity decreased from 0.089 kWh/kg in 2023 to 0.085 kWh/kg in 2024, exceeding the milestone target by 20.5%.

This progress was supported by a growing share of renewable energy, with solar generation accounting for 14.7% of total energy use. The company also completed further energy upgrades, including the installation of more efficient cooling systems in fresh intake fridges. Although the planned wind turbine project will not proceed during this plan period, the company remains focused on implementing practical, high-impact energy solutions.

To further reduce energy demand, a new charger room with smart charging systems was introduced in 2024, alongside the purchase of an electric forklift and the installation of sensor lighting. These initiatives reflect the company’s commitment to integrating energy-efficient technologies across its operations. Additionally, progress was made in reviewing and implementing recommendations from a recent energy audit.
