In 2024, Kish Fish made strong progress in water conservation by reducing total water intensity at its Coolock site from 0.0068 m³/kg in 2023 to 0.0029 m³/kg, surpassing its milestone target by 57.4%. This achievement reflects the company’s commitment to resource efficiency, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.

A key driver of this progress was the successful implementation of three shared water initiatives: staff training, pressure adjustments, and leak repairs. Notably, the reduction in water flow pressure throughout the production area significantly lowered consumption without compromising operational performance. These improvements were a key factor in Kish Fish maintaining its Gold Membership recognition for the fourth consecutive year.

At the Howth site, Kish Fish also exceeded its water target, reducing total water intensity from 0.025 m³/kg in 2023 to 0.0238 m³/kg in 2024, against a milestone of 0.0248 m³/kg. The company identified staff awareness as a critical factor in achieving this reduction and responded by delivering targeted training to promote water-saving behaviours. This training not only supported environmental goals but also reinforced employee engagement and wellbeing, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to continuous improvement.
